Ilkan Cavus signs first professional contract with KRC Genk
Today, the Belgian youth international Ilkan Cavus signed his first professional contract with KRC Genk until medio 2016. The central defender joined the KRC Genk youth academy in 2003 and won last year’s championship with the U16 team. For Ilkan and his family this contract is the deserved reward after ten years of hard work. Ilkan: “without the support of my family, I would never be at the point where I am now. Also the assistance of my manager Stijn Haeldermans has been very important for me. Under the Y-Generation program, we will now work together towards the next steps in my career." Stijn Haeldermans, a former player of KRC Genk himself, declared afterwards that by contracting one of its own young talents KRC Genk has demonstrated again that it is a club with healthy future ambitions.
